During this worldwide crisis, our business Breakthrough Sushi is on halt, with no booked event for the next few months.
At the same time, my work is shifting to help other people in the food restaurant industry and businesses.
By doing so, I feel like I'm helping myself.
Two Places will be the platform to do precisely that: to help everyone in the whole restaurant and food industry.
In the past two weeks, I connected with many startup founders, engineers online. For now, I have four potential co-founders who are willing to come on board.
The first phase of the project is to ask the job seeker to become a community member.
At the same time, we will be building a simple platform - a professional (closed invite member-only) network for people and businesses in the food industry.
It will be a community of professionals, supporting and helping each other for the longevity of the entire industry.
Once we have enough members and the platform starts to run smoothly with basic features, we will begin to make job matches.
We aim to cut the job/talent searching time into half. On average, it takes 30 days for a job seeker in the food industry to land in a job.
I feel that is just too long.
More than ever, we need a system to help job seekers and businesses find each other faster than 30 days.
There has never been a better time than now to start this project. So many people have lost their jobs in the past weeks, and the number will continue to rise for the weeks to come.
It's time to get ready.
